Allergies: A Seasonal Conspiracy Against Dogs - By Kero, Professional Critic of Nature and Defender of Itchy Dogs

I'd like to start by saying I have several concerns about spring.

Birds become louder.

The mud returns.

Humans suddenly decide gardening is a personality trait.

And worst of all...

Everything starts pollinating.

For reasons known only to nature's least qualified engineers, plants release clouds of invisible nonsense into the air and somehow I'm the one who ends up itchy.

Explain that.

No, seriously.

I'd like an explanation.

The Great Itching

If you share your home with an allergy dog, you know the signs.

The scratching.

The licking.

The chewing.

The mysterious obsession with one paw.

The dramatic sighing.

The look that says:

"I have suffered for seventeen years."

Even though the symptoms started Tuesday.

Humans often assume allergies are only about sneezing.

Dogs, however, like to be different.

Because apparently being normal wasn't an option.

Instead, allergies often show up as:

🐾 Itchy skin

🐾 Licking paws

🐾 Redness

🐾 Ear irritation

🐾 General crankiness

Although to be fair, some of us were cranky before the allergies.

Why Is Everything Trying To Touch Me?

Pollen.

Grass.

Dust.

Environmental allergens.

The world is essentially one giant itchy obstacle course.

Meanwhile humans are outside saying things like:

"What a beautiful spring day!"

Easy for you to say.

You're not licking your own feet.

Enter Cadie's Allergy Alleviator

My human created something called Cadie's Allergy Alleviator for dogs who would prefer not to spend allergy season trying to remove their own paws.

A perfectly reasonable goal.

This herbal blend is designed to support dogs dealing with seasonal and environmental allergy challenges.

Not because herbs are magical.

They're not.

If herbs were magical, squirrels would have been eliminated years ago.

The blend contains carefully selected ingredients traditionally used to support:

🌿 Healthy skin

🌿 Normal immune function

🌿 Seasonal allergy support

🌿 Overall comfort during allergy season

Which sounds significantly more enjoyable than spending six hours a day chewing your feet.

Things Humans Should Actually Do

While we're discussing allergies, here's a revolutionary concept:

Observe your dog.

I know.

Radical.

Notice patterns.

When does the itching start?

Is it seasonal?

After walks?

After rolling in questionable things?

The more information you gather, the easier it becomes to support your dog properly.

This is called detective work.

Dogs perform it daily.

Usually involving dropped food.

Kero's Important Disclaimer

If your dog is suddenly miserable, losing hair, developing infections, or becoming increasingly uncomfortable, please consult your veterinarian.

Do not ask your neighbor.

Do not ask Facebook.

Do not ask the guy who once cured his lawn with Mountain Dew.

Veterinarians exist for a reason.

Kero's Final Wisdom

Allergies are rude.

Pollen is rude.

Grass is occasionally rude.

Nature, frankly, could use better management.

But with good observation, proper veterinary care, and appropriate herbal support, many dogs can be a lot more comfortable during allergy season.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go glare at a dandelion.

I don't know what it did.

But I don't trust it.
